Te Huia Log Homes evolved out of our search for sustainable building options for our eco development here in Huia West Auckland. Whole natural draught horse logged Douglas Fir grown in sustainable New Zealand forests became our building medium of choice and a beautiful option for the NZ environment. Hand crafted log homes perfectly suit the rural, coastal, forest and mountain wilderness of New Zealand. With their naturally low carbon footprint, warm solid and esthetically beautiful look, we designed a compact log home that is unique to us and to our country. The Tehuia 'Twin Peaks' log home and its accompanying guest cottage is pre built and then delivered anywhere in NZ via container. Living within the safety and beauty of big trees, hand peeled and scribe fit, using techniques that are hundreds of years old, will appeal to many of us seeking healthy sustainable lives.
